A little about Acidophilus....
Collectively known as Lactobacillus acidophilus (LA), lactic acid bacteria are often classified as probiotics.
They serve to maintain the health of the intestinal tract by producing acids and other compounds that inhibit the growth of pathogenic (disease-causing) bacteria. In addition, lactic acid bacteria biosynthesize essential nutrients, such as the B-complex vitamins, and, other than food sources, constitute the only means of making these micronutrients available.
